The Journey of Cocoa Beach 420 Bash
It was a crisp and cool morning on 4/19, the Majic Bus was all loaded up, buzz was riding shotgun and ready for and adventure. We took off on our journey heading east chasing the rising sun toward the coast. I guided the 40 ft luxary lounge on wheel down country roads, through down town Sanford and across swamps on the way to I-95. We eventually made it down I-95 to the exit for Cocoa and snaked our way to the event all the while tourists and locals alike would stop dead in thier tracks to gawk and wave at the Bright Hippy lounge making its way down A1A. After the Journey we arrived to a pavillion that quickly was surrounded by vendors and filled with guest looking to celebrate 420! The Funk band Tru phonic was Jamming and people were having a blast enjoying the festivities. We were able to serve a cold beverage to quench the thirst for many and just steps away from the Band on the inside of the bus the atmosphere was a little more quiet yet giggles hung in the hazy air while a patron sat back with Buzz the bunny in the sky chair and melted into the hemp seat as others told stories of travels, work and life. The serene atmosphere not only provided a private place in a public space for them to feel welcome to medicate without the fear of ridicule or possible law enforcement harrassing them but it also allowed them to escape the overwhelming energy of the crowd and sound of the band on the outside and be able to have safe place to unwind and chat as adults. The sun began to make its way toward the horizon as we packed up for the evening. The next day after Celebrating Easter on Cocoa Beach in the surf and Sand Buzz and I once again chased the Sun in the big peace wagon only this time it was due west to return home and prepare for the next adventure that awaits us!
